Hi ppl,
i've had this problem recently with booting my windows partition.
now i installed a linux usb on the same computer (as no other computer sees the broken partition), and i managed to mount the windoes partition, however, some of the files are missing.
I think test disk may fix the problem, somehow, at least getting the corrupted data back again if not actually repairing the windows partition.
However, i donno if i can run it from a FAT formated drive, in order to fix NTFS files.
Any advice?
can i recover ntfs partition from a linux formated one?

Don't format your disk. Use TestDisk to recover your partition, PC/Intel, Analyse, Quick Search, Deeper Search, set the NTFS partition to P(rimary) or (*bootable), choose to Write the new partition table, confirm, BackupBS, confirm, Quit
