Hi,
I've been using testdisk to backup data on an internal HDD showing some failures.
I managed to get back few data (from windows partitions), however:
1) I couldn't view data in the users folders (i.e. "documents & settings" and each password protected windows user under windows 7 directory "users")
2) once I got back part of the data (well all data seen by testdisk), testdisk or any other tool can't see the disk at all anymore
Any idea or suggestion to help me fix this and recover my main data ?
Many thanks in advance,
Nikobe

Re: Disk not recognized after data backup
Hi,
I managed to see the disk again now.
But still no luck in finding the data from the windows "users" folders!
Any idea ? Please ?
Thanks
Nikobe

It may be a problem of file ownership. Even as administrator, Windows forbids you to access your user directories.
