Testdisk can't find my device
Ye, well my hard drive recently decided to give the "format to use" message and so I quickly downloaded testdisk to remedy the situation, however, I encountered a problem. Testdisk doesn't recognise the hard drive, it's no where to be seen. does anyone know how to rectify this problem?

Check that you are running TestDisk from a Windows account in the Administrators group. If you see all your disks except this one, the problem is probably hardware.

Yes, I think the hard drive is broken. Is there no way to recover the data that was on it?

It's possible to recover data but for hardware problems, you need to contact a data recovery company.
