Hey guys,
I am trying to recover some deleted .r3d files from a hard drive. I let photorec run for a good 3 days and stopped it due to it taking an exorbitant amount of time and checked to see if the .r3d files were there. None were. I was a bit confused by the settings when trying to setup the dump so I might have been doing something wrong. Any tips?
Thanks,
Adam R.

Re: Recovering .r3d files
Only latest PhotoRec 7.0-WIP knows the version 2 of .r3d file format. Check that you are using the latest version.

Re: Recovering .r3d files
Can you send me an unmodified .r3d taken with your camera ? I will check why it isn't recovered by PhotoRec.

I have WeTransfered it to your grenier@cgsecurity.org email. It was taking awhile to attach to this reply.

Re: Recovering .r3d files
I have checked the r3d file you send me, it is recovered by recent PhotoRec 7.0-WIP... (ie April or May 2014).
Have you checked that the "deleted" files aren't in Windows RecycleBin ?

Re: Recovering .r3d files
That's odd being that wasn't one of the files I attempted to recover and most files recovered were renamed to a generic numbering. It's not in the recycle bin, first place I checked. I'll attempt another full recovery and report back.
Re: Recovering .r3d files
So after another recovery 0 .r3d files were found.
I know the footage was deleted to here because I found the other .mov's that were deleted in the same folder.

The lost r3d file may have been overwritten by other data...
