Hanging on cylinder during analysis?

#1 Post by Hoyt »

During analysis, the scan appears to be hanging at 99% on cylinder 243197 of 243200. Here is the screen:

TestDisk 6.13, Data Recovery Utility, November 2011
Christophe Grenier <grenier@cgsecurity.org>

Disk /dev/sdb - 2000 GB / 1863 GiB - CHS 243201 255 63
Analyse cylinder 243197/243200: 99%

MS Data 2048 3906963455 3906961408

The disk appears but with a RAW partition in the Windows (Vista) Disk Administrator. It was an NTFS partition. In the Acronis Disk Director (trial version) it appears as NTFS. File Scavenger lists the files, so I could recover them, but they are recent duplicates from another troubled external drive. Please advise.

Did you partition your disk as GIUD partition table?
