restore of files from image.dd
Hi, I saved all files in an Image.dd. How can I restore files back from Image.dd to a new formatted HDD using Windows 7 or 8. regards Joerg
Re: restore of files from image.dd
Did you already try to list your files?
My suggestion would be, to mount an image file in testdisk, list your files and copying files back.

Re: restore of files from image.dd
Hi Fiona, as far I remember the procedure of testdisk, I listet all files (so the answer would be yes) and then created an Image.dd on a second USB disk. Now I am stuck and not knowing what to do next to restore files from the "Image" Image.dd.
What does the recommendation "mounting an Image file in testdisk" mean, knowing the above written hint. I believed that Image.dd is an Image. It cannot be loaded from testdisk nor photorec, correct?
regards Joerg

Re: restore of files from image.dd
Hello Fiona,
I found a tool, that was able to provide the content of image.dd. But there seems to be no files.
I will add my partition table. What do you recommend to do?
Regards
Joerg
