My SD card with hundreds of photos is suddenly corrupt and giving me an error that I need to format the drive in order to use it. After this happened, I immediately ran PhotoRec but it somehow only found 3 files out of hundreds that were on the card. All 3 were from separate dates and events. Any idea why this may be? The fact that it did recover 3 makes me hopeful, but I'm not sure why it couldn't recover the other 500+. Is the data truly gone, or could I have messed up on the scan settings?
Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

After selecting the partition, choose [Whole] instead of [Free].
