Hi,
Quite a while ago I accidentally overwrote my WD external hard drive, including a lot of photos I'd like to get back, in the process of using dd to try to install an image to an sd card...
I managed to make a copy of the drive, which got damaged because of a crash/ power failure at the same time, using ddrescue, so I now have an .iso. However the things I've tried so far to recover files/partitions using testdisk have had no success. I've recovered a few things using photorec but ideally i'd like to recover as much of it all as possible using testdisk...
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions ... ?p=5354351 is what I've done so far. Running testdisk using the intel/pc partitions option, deeper search on the .iso image i have of the whole disk, i've also rewritten the mbr and deleted partition tables...
What else can I try?
Cheers,
Nick
