Hard Drive turned Raw after Fresh OS install

#1 Post by chino88 »

Hello.
I have been reading these forums, and others in search of a solution for my issue.
I just had refreshed my system, added a new HDD and Power Supply. I formatted my primary Hard drive and installed win 7 again.
Now, one of my backup drives is showing up as Raw.... I have a lot of info there.
I do not have actual partitions in my drives, i just use the physical one.
testdisk says structure is ok, but the system files are damaged. I know the Drive is good. the particular drive that i have issues with is not that old nor used as much.
here are some images just in case. I am a real noob with Hard drives, first time this has ever happened....

I tried the steps that were on another thread (with an Italian guy) and did not figure it out...
Also, i tried running Chkdsk /r option but windows would not allow me to...

Help pls! Thank you in advance

To run chkdsk, windows must recognize your boot sector correctly to acces a damaged file system.
If a file system is seriously damaged then it might be possible that windows doesn't recognize it either.

You should have a boot sector diagnose first.
Start TestDisk, confirm at create a log with enter and select your affected disk.
Confirm at partition table type with enter also
Don't confirm at Analyse but Advanced.
Confirm at Boot.
Highlight Rebuild BS and hit Enter.
Rebuild your BS will be in progress.
Normally, it takes some minutes.
If it's finished, please post the infos or upload a screen.
If you see a menu List, please highlight it and press enter.
Please let us know, do you see your data or an error message.
To get back to the previous screen, easily press q for Quit.

Infos will follow.
