Very new to this and not very computer savvy. I'm trying to recover files from a damaged external hard drive using testDisk. Upon running a Quick Search, all the files (or at least their folders)I'm looking to recover appear. I Select the folders i want and type "C" which brings me to the screen asking where I would like the files to be copied, and I choose the appropriate directory.
After quite some time, the green highlighted text tells me "All files copied OK!" or something to that effect, however, there are no new files in the directory I chose, and I can't find them anywhere on the laptop's internal hard drive. Have I merely copied the files back somewhere onto the damaged external drive, or what's going on here? Desperately seeking some advice!
Kindly,
B
