I don't see the option to select between free and whole. What am I missing? I am running version 7.0.
Here is excerpt from the step by step guide.
"from the unallocated space only (available for ext2/ext3/ext4, FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 and NTFS). With this option only deleted files are recovered."

Re: I don't see the option to choose free
This option is available once an exFAT, FAT12/16/32, NTFS, ext2/3/4 filesystem has been selected.
Re: I don't see the option to choose free
I selected ext3/ext4 but am not prompted to select free space or whole disk. It seems to select the whole disk by default. I am running photorec on windows 10.

Re: I don't see the option to choose free
Try the Windows 32 bit version.
Re: I don't see the option to choose free
I just realized that I an using the 32 bit version. I do see the option to choose Free Space when I select an NTFS partition but not for ext3/ext4 partition or disk. I ran with whole disk option. Does this option also try to recover deleted files/folders?
Thank you for the feedback.

Re: I don't see the option to choose free
It's better to recover your data partition by partition and not using Whole disk.
Re: I don't see the option to choose free
I was able to recover the missing files using Whole Disk. It took more than three days. Anyway, thank you for your tool and feedback.
