Partition table type selection

#1 Post by Chief »

Hi, I am using Testdisk to recover a 750GB disk that had W10 installed but now is stuck in a boot loop.
The 750GB has been divided into a C:\ partition (which it is booting from) and D:\ partition. The D:\ partition is fine

So I can see the whole disk in Testdisk and select it. The next step is select the partition table type. Testdisk highlights:
[EFI GPT partition map]

Since I have been running W10 on this drive (also the only OS), could this be the correct choice? I thought I would have to select [Intel]

TestDisk try to select the correct version by default. EFI GPT is probably the correct one. It's always possible to try PC/Intel if it doesn't work.
