I have 500 GB HDD which is 2 partitions. ( First Partition is XP Installation , the other one is data )
I had to re-install the windows partition which I imaged via Partimage ( part of Systemrescuecd ) 2 years ago.
For re-install I used a systemrescue CD created June 2011.
1 - Used GParted and deleted the first partition ,
2 - Re-created partition and formated as NTFS
3 - Used Partimage and tried to restore image I created 2 years ago ( I did several restores with partimage on this PC and it never went wrong ) but got a message saying partition was smaller than image
4 - Checked with Gparted again; Everything was looking normal except I identified a third partition unallocated
then decided to change the partition sizes to restructure ( never seen this 3rd partition before when I used Gparted )
5 - Used Gparted to resize second partition to make it smaller and move to end of the disk. When Gparted finished its job got an error message saying "Disk is smaller than partition size"
6 - Then I became aware of your tool.
7 - Used testdisk to analyse and it found 2 deleted partition ( same size of windows partition of the disk ) and data partition so I listed files and folders on data partition ( was looking allright ) then wrote the structure.
8 - Now I can not access see when I use your tool and try to re-analyse and list files and folders. it just list one folder in it ( which I normally have several )
9 - I remove the HDD from PC and put it in an USB enclosure and plug it in on a differnt PC and I analyzed it with File Scavenger 4.0 and it founds all files and folders but most of them shows recovery chance statuses as poor or nothing

10 - I only need files from data partition. I have no problem the wipe HDD install it from scratch after I recovered the files. Does PhotoRec help me ? Will it better recover from File Scavenger ?
So I am helpless and looking for help and guidance. I could not attach any screenshot as I am at office but I can post screenshots and log if you could guide me through so I post the wright ones
Thanks in advance
