saving jpg files from formatted sd card

#1 Post by hourna »

hello,

i have formatted my sd card using canon eos60d. after formatting, no data is written on sd card and i have attempted to recover .jpg files. but i could not manage to save any file. scanning with various recovery softwares ended up with no result. so, i have tried photorec software and again i could not salvage anything. since no data is written after format, i thought it would be easy and painless to recover my pictures but i am surprised that i could not manage to salvage anything.

file structure is fat32. it was also fat32 before formatting. i have used format function of canon 60d. i plug my sd card to my card reader (which is realtek) of vaio notebook.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some camera overwrites all the memory card, so no picture can't be recovered.
Let's try anyway something: run PhotoRec, in Options, enable the expert mode, select the partition and choose Search.
When asked, use 512 blocksize, use the default value otherwise.

Does it work better ?
