Hi. I'm new to PhotoRec so excuse my lack of knowledge here but I am trying to recover some photos and videos (jpeg/mpeg etc) that are stored on an old Sony Playstation 4 hard drive. The drive is not damaged but I understand PS4 drives are formatted in a way that makes them unreadable on a regular Windows PC. I no longer have the PS4 to re-install the hard drive.
I have run PhotoRec a couple of times but it seems I have only got TXT files in the searches saved in my Linux Mint directory. Is it actually possible to recover the image / video files from this hard drive? I have done several searches using different search parameters but only seem to end up with TXT files, no JPEG etc. Any advice would be much appreciated.
