I have a friend in France and I'm trying to help him from the US. He unplugged his Adata CH94 mid-file transfer and now the system wants to format. I got him to download Test Disk and run it. After running Deeper Search, it suggested changing the geometry of the disk from 255 to 16. Will this harm ...

How did you fix corrupted files (none of fix corrupt archive programs I've tried work)galamartin wrote:I solves the issue indeed. Quite a few files were corrupted, and many few files with non-ascii names needed some care.

I have used Photorec 7.0 WIP and used Whole.Photorec recovered most files Testdisk couldn't recover.
Unfortunately only 4 flac files out of about 56 aren't corrupted (I'm keeping the corrupted flac in hope that they can be fixed)
and most of tar jar zip wav ...

Ive tried most of things for my very specific situation in Testdisk but they didnt help except a few things I havent tried because I dont know if and how do them.

This is weird.You should be able to copy all filees and directories simultaneously.You cna try selecting a single directory.
What version are you using? Maybe try the newest 7.0 Work In Progress?

The exe has exact same size and name as the original folder so Im sure data is intact.
