I got the advise from an article on another website to access the drive using Linux instead of Windows as the damaged filesystem is a Windows thing.

Just to inform this forum that I managed to recover the files I wanted to recover from the HD. As described in my initial post the HD in my PC wanted to be formatted where it was working fine before. The only thing I did was disconnect the IDE cable and plug another HDD to the IDE kabel to uprade ...

This is the partition structure that I remember as being the correct one as I have partioned this HDD":
Disk /dev/sdb - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 15200 255 63
Current partition structure:
Partition Start End Size in sectors
Invalid NTFS or EXFAT boot
1 * HPFS - NTFS ...
Used TestDisk 7.1 WIN

I have started a new search but now only with .pst files to be recovered.
It did find 4 files but these were located in the second partition which I already copied the files using TestDisk. It did not find the .pst file that should be on he C (Primary) partition which is the partition I selected to ...

I have tried it but did not work.
The file extention is .CbWgc
The content of the files starts with "CamBFile" (see attach screenprint of the hex editor)
So I use Notepad and typed:

and saved the notepad file as photorec ...

I don't know How to do that. If I install the HDD in the PC I cannot run Windows. I can only access it as a an external drive. Or perhaps install the HDD in my PC and run TestDisk 7.1 as a dos version with a boot-disk?
