AAC files
Does photorec support recovering of AAC files ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Audio_Coding )? This Apple audio format often comes with .m4a or .aac or .mp4 extensions. I searched on the online list of formats ( http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/File_Formats_Recovered_By_PhotoRec ) but couldn't ...

I need to recover 'audio' file formats from iTunes on a damaged Mac OS X disk. The problem is that the file formats listed within photorec do not coincide perfectly with those listed on the website ( http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/File_Formats_Recovered_By_PhotoRec ).

Re: Recovery of a CD Pass 1
You may consider other solutions to read damaged CDs, such as 'readcd' from 'Cdrtools' or 'ddrescue' from 'gddrescue'. See this relevant thread: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions ... 272#106272.

Re: both File Allocation Tables corrupted in FAT32 partition
The purpose of testing Rebuild BS makes only sense if the extrapolated boot sector is different to the current one.
It might be possible that copying gets improved.
After several hours 'Rebuild BS' finished and the extrapolated boot sector was indeed different. Unfortunately, it didn't improve ...

Re: both File Allocation Tables corrupted in FAT32 partition
Hello
Thanks for the speedy reply.
Your partition table looks ok, so there is nothing to do.
At least some good news.
Would you like to copy/backup important files first?
