Western Digital 2TB

#1 Post by henry21 »

Hello, first I want to thank you for the time spent helping those who do not know much about these things. I have an external hard drive of 2 TB, it was working fine until I connect to a computer running Windows XP, I got a message that did not recognize the disc. Then I plugged it into my computer with windows 7 and all information had disappeared, tells me that the disk is empty.
I has follow your tutorial step by step but i get a partition write error.
Please help me, i know the information is still there because another tool scan the disk and showed me the files but somewhat erroneous.
Please help me, i really need recover my information.
this is the info in the log:

Did you use TestDisk 64bit?
The latest version testdisk 7.1WIP 32bit is recommended.
In TestDisk disk selection you should select Disk / Dev .. instead of a Drive.
Please repeat your diagnose and copy and paste the content of your testdisk.log into your next post.

Your current partition structure on your dirve contains an extended partition only.
That's why running testdisk / Advanced on an extended partition didn't help as much.
Selecting Disk / dev displays at Analyse your current partition structure (partition table) correctly.
