Hi. I came across your utility from a site beginning with the same 2 characters as your business name (I don 't want to state the full name, so as not to contravene any site rules) after searching for ages for a tool that doesn't cost the earth to purchase, as I had a major system failure which has corrupted the structure on 2 of my hard disks.
Using the trial version of a couple of these other pieces of software, 1 in particular, I know the data is all still there it's just the disks have been made inaccessible.
The first app I've tried of yours is test-disk-7.3-WIP (which I know means Work In Progress) but it appears to have hung.

But how do I know that? All the counters are static, and I can't click stop. I don't really want to close the window otherwise I'll lose where I got to and have to start over.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks
PS: I've tried to include an images, but in the preview it just shows the text.
How can you tell if TestDisk is "frozen"?

Here is your picture.
Please post your log file.
The term "read error" on the picture suggests following the standard procedure:
Post your smartmontools log file:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10910
Depending on the result it might be necessary to clone the drive as described in the manual.
