[Analyse]
Don't anything ie no action taken or more damage done. Just look at the results and post the results.
When experimenting don't do anything further looked at the results first.Then decide later.

Hi Tony,
Data recovery is a time consuming tasks and the easiest way is to read all the files if possible and copy the all files using a working computer to another HDD.The data is intact as long as the mechanical parts are working in your HDD.

I don't know much about Testdisk but I do have HDD that failed to boot. My advice is turned this HDD that failed to boot as a slave drive and connect this HDD to your PC to copy all the data via USB X.0 to SATA/IDE interface. Then reformat the HDD in order to use it. The data is totally ...

I forgot to add that the corrupted data was 359 MB in size that contains html pages, .jpg pictures, java scripts, txt files, and a folder file of jpg pictures, lastly 2 RTF files.
